"Dear ATARI Demosceners,
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the immense welcome you gave me during my time at Silly Venture 2025 WE in Gdansk. What a ride it was. Being away from major demoscene events for so long due to where I live, I truly didn’t know what to expect. I certainly wasn’t prepared for such an incredible reception. So many long-overdue meetings, new encounters, an avalanche of kind words, respect, and gratitude… it was almost overwhelming, in the best possible way. Most importantly, I hope you enjoyed the live performance Adrien and I put together, despite the few glitches you may have heard here and there. They were mostly due to the lack of preparation time and some last-minute technical issues we couldn’t solve on such short notice. (Hence the extra-focused look on my face during the mix. Sync issues are fun… said no one ever.) But overall, your feedback during the rest of the party was wonderfully positive. My real reward was hearing that some of you felt I had once been part of your own personal journey, like a musical companion. Who could have imagined that, thirty years later, I’d be in Gdansk at an Atari party? What are the odds?
I want to send my greetings to everyone, but there are far too many names to list. Basically every single person I met belongs here, plus many others who couldn’t make it but would have loved to be among us.
My thoughts also go to those we’ve lost, and they were on my mind while preparing the performance.
That said, I need to highlight a few people:
Big up to Grey (and his dedicated team), to Adrien D. for being the backbone of the performance, and to Doclands for the time and passion he put into post-processing the audio so we can release it on streaming platforms and continue educating the masses about what this chiptune thing is that we keep talking about.
May this journey inspire others.
Now, I can go back to hibernation mode.
