Did I forget to post about last year's Forever party? I did, indeed. So to avoid repeating the same mistake I'm posting this reminder a month ahead!

Another reason I'm posting this is that this year we have quite a few cool prices to give away, see https://atari.sk/forever-2025-8-bit-jur … z-o-mesiac for more details.

Dobra, testów ciąg dalszy. Otóż wychodzi na to, że nie można tego P-Covoxa "spiąć szeregowo" wraz ze stereo tak, jak miało to miejsce w przypadku starszych rozwiązań znanych na /scenie/. Rozdzieliłem tory audio Covoxa od Pokey'ów i głośność Covox'a wróciła do normy. W tym przypadku faktycznie przydał by się jakiś wewnętrzny mixer audio, słyszałem że jest w przygotowaniu. Szczekam z utęsknieniem :)

Oh man, I see that I have to update the rules as well. Those were written by -XI- to fit his machine; I'm pretty sure we don't have MD DOS anymore. :)

As for the hardware, we should have there a 600XL with U1MB, SIDE2, stereo etc, so pretty standard stuff.

I see that the note about (not) using G2F for example is a bit strongly worded as well. ;)

TL; DR version is: standard stuff, make sure it runs on real hardware. If in doubt, drop me a message to atari@zeroteam.sk and we'll check it out on our Atari.

As I'm co-organizing this year's Forever edition, this post serves as a reminder for two things:

A guy on AA said that it's quite easy to build them by yourself (using through-hole components) so perhaps that's the route I'm going to take. Still, what a pity they are not produced anymore.

Hey guys,

after some discussion we have decided to create a small collection for Xi's family. Because you know, it doesn't make sense if every one of us brings flowers, it makes much more sense to buy just one decent funeral wreath and dedicate the rest of the money to the family to cover funeral expenses.

The plan is to write there some dedication like "From the Czech, Slovak and Polish Atari friends". Since it is all on very short notice, the plan is as follows:

- we buy a nice wreath, with all the bells and whistles
- you wire me any sum of money to XXX (EDITED, no longer needed)
- send an email to XXX how much did you send (as the bank transfer can take more than one day)
- I withdraw the sum claimed in the emails and make the donation to Xi's family on tomorrow's funeral

Of course this requires some trust on both sides but I think nobody is such an idiot to take an advantage of it. After all, many of us will be there in person so everyone will see giving them the money.

Hi guys,

with an incredibly heavy heart I have to announce that my long time friend, mentor, true Atari fan and amazing person in general passed away on 26.2.2022 after a lost fight with sudden and quick illness. :(

For those who didn't know him so well, I prepared an article for his memory: http://atari.sk/xi-satantronic-is-no-longer-with-us because he was really a huge figure in our small Atari world.

I was quite devastated when Radek Sterba (Raster) from the Czech Republic, similar key figure there, unexpectedly died a few years ago and I would have never imagined that Xi is going to be next. :(

Rest in peace my friend.

in case you don't follow other forums so much: new versions of my software is available. zView 1.0.1 is mainly a bugfix release (same as BETA8 was) but mxPlay 2.1 comes with MPG123 plugin which is able to play MP1, MP2 and MP3 on CT60 / FireBee machines.

hi tebe,

please, while we're on subject, could you please explain the COL format? In polish docs I found:

COL - paleta kolorów dla każdej z linii ekranu (5 * 256 bajtów)

I understand what it says but I don't understand the logic behind this -- in g2f picture I have max of 30 logical (interruptible) lines with max of 9 colors (5 COLx regs, 4 players)... so I'm really stupid here since I can't get what the hell that 5*256 means ;-)

It's more than 8 years I coded something on 8bit so don't kill me if I ask for something really stupid ;-)

Dear sceners and friends of demoscene!

We are happy to announce you the official Easter Atari Demoparty 2006 called "Noise" which will held, very untraditionally, in Slovakia (Slovak Republic) !

Our goal is to finally join both 8bit- and ST/Falcon-scene in one big party and support each competition with decent prizes like in the past...

More information you can find at our website, http://noise.atari.org, where you can tell us your interest, opinions and where you can find some basic facts about the party itself.

The website will be regular updated, we're going to bring you information about each competition, party program, prizes for winners, travel maps etc...

i hope i found the right place to write it: QUAST PARTY RULES!!! it was the best party i've ever been and i'm really looking forward for the next year because of....

this event is uncomparable to any other ("western") demoparty...i can't find any bad thing on this party.... people, thanks, you rule!
